Sports Funding

Sports Funding 2017-18

This year the Government has increased the award each school received to £20,000 plus £10 per pupil in KS1 and KS2.

Key Stage 1 and 2 teachers will be working alongside specialist sports coaches (First for Sport) to further enhance the provision of PE across the school. First for Sports will also be running a range of after school clubs and working with children who do not normally access regular extra-curricular sporting clubs. These initiatives will be part of the schools application to achieve the national “School Games Mark” accreditation.

Additionally we employ a Sports Assistant to work alongside teachers to further develop the provision of PE across the school. The Sports Assistant runs a range of extra-curricular sporting clubs and supports the PE Subject Leader in ensuring the school participates in a range of out of school sporting events.

The remainder of the Sports funding is used to purchase a range of sporting equipment to develop, improve and sustain the PE curriculum.

Please see below our financial year reports on how we spend our allocated sports funding grant.
