Free School Meals
School dinners provide a healthy, nutritious and tasty meal. Sitting down together helps develop children’s social skills and research suggests that a school meal can improve a child’s concentration. Children registered for free school meals can choose each day whether to have a school dinner or to bring in their own packed lunch. We make sure it is not obvious who is having a free meal.
Children registered for free school meals also release additional funding to support them in school (for example they are not expected to contribute voluntary donations for school trips and would only pay half of any residential cost).
