Clerk to the Governors Grade 4
(£19,554-£21,166 pro rata. £2,192-£2,373 actual salary)
We are seeking to appoint a professional clerk to support our governing body.
Our governing body, through its appointed and elected governors, plays an important role in the continuing success and strategic development of our school. The clerk’s job is central to the efficiency of our governing body.
You will have a flexible approach to work, sense of responsibility and integrity, tact and diplomacy, a respect for confidentiality and the ability to remain impartial.
You will work with the Chair, Head Teacher and other governors, dealing with administrative matters on behalf of the governing body and advising on school related governance. The post involves both day and evening work. Typically there will be six full governors meetings and nine other evening committee meetings each academic year. There will also be nine morning committee meetings each year. Meetings are ordinarily on a Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.
Good IT skills and the ability to write agendas and produce accurate concise minutes in a timely manner are crucial.
The core hours of this post are 195 hours a year which equates to an average 5 hours per week (term time only). Occasionally with the mutual agreement of the employee and the governing body additional hours may be required.
