You may have heard reported that the government has ordered a number of schools, nurseries and colleges with reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) to close affected buildings immediately until safety measures, such as propping up ceilings, are introduced. 

We have not been ordered to close and will open as planned on Tuesday.

Wokingham Council have written to school on the 1st September to inform us they think 'it unlikely that there is RAAC in our school buildings'. As such we do not believe there to be an immediate safety concern at our school in relation to this news story. As a precaution however; the council have also reassured us that they will be carrying out urgent surveys of all school sites, over the next few weeks, to confirm the absence of RAAC on their sites.
