Loddon Primary School

Working together to realise the potential in everyone

Curriculum

At Loddon Primary School we follow the Early Years Statutory Framework in Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum in Years 1-6.

We plan our phonics in Reception and Key Stage One with reference to 'Letters and Sounds' a phonics resource published by the Department for Education and Skills in 2007.

Children at Loddon learn to read using a wide variety of text including those taken from the following reading schemes.

Oxford Reading Tree, Bug Club, Big Cat, Rigby Star

Please support your child's learning in the curriculum by hearing them read as often as possible; reading is a key skill for all subjects and we greatly appreciate parents prioritising time to support the practise of reading.
